New Haven has several main events throughout the year. Balloon races, Missouri's only Short Film Festival, Firefest, chamber events, business specials and social gatherings, there is always something going on.
This weekend-long event sponsors a balloon glow that offers a breathtaking view of lit balloons the evening before the race. Race day hosts over 20 balloons in pursuit of the "hare". The Pepsi-Cola New Haven Balloon festival has been a stable for over 25 years.
What was once a small street demonstration by local artisans, Firefest has turned into one of New Haven's biggest festivals.Known as a "celebration of ice and fire", this one-day event boasts a house of fire an ice, demonstrations, art fair, food and beverage and 'Burning Man'

The New Haven Preservation Society will hold a chicken dinner fundraiser on Saturday, September 15, in the Home Oil parking lot on Highway 100. Penn State Chicken will be sold from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to raise money for Preservation Society operations. The cost is $10 for a half chicken and two sides. Pre-order by calling 314-604-2612.
