The district has been fully accredited by the State of Missouri and has been awarded the "Distinction in Performance award for the last six years. New Haven is an 'A+ School' meaning graduates can attend two years of community college or state technical, tuition-paid, by meeting a few requirements. Recently, The US Department of Education announced that New Haven High School has been selected as a 2015 Blue Ribbon School.
New Haven has long been identified with the Shamrocks and the New Haven School District. The basketball teams of the 1950s won four consecutive State Championships. That tradition was strengthened in recent years with four more state Championship teams since 1997.  New Haven also boasts state champions in volleyball and track,
as well as award-winning musical and vocational programs.
